What is Yin Yoga:
Yin Yoga is a slow, mediative style of yoga practised mainly on the floor. Postures are held for several minutes at a time, so practitioners can access deep tissues, such as the connective tissue and the fascia. Many of the postures focus on areas involving joints i.e hips, sacrum and spine.

“Yin yoga poses apply moderate stress to the connective tissues of the body; the tendons, fascia, and ligaments-with the aim of increasing circulation in the joints and improving flexibility. A meditative approach to yoga, yin aims to cultivate awareness of inner silence, and bringing to light a universal, interconnecting quality”

About the workshop:
We never seem to have enough time these days. We are always rushing around, checking off to-do lists and being dictated to by our smartphones.
This April treat yourself to the luxury of time and ‘Yindulge’ yourself with an extended Yin Yoga practice that will leave you feeling deeply relaxed and rejuvenated.
The three hour window gives us an opportunity to sink deeper into relaxation, in Yin Yoga the magic ingredient is time, not effort, so as we practice with gentleness and patience we learn more about our bodies and find a deep acceptance of ourselves both physically and emotionally.
Who can attend this workshop?:
Regular, beginner or simply intrigued, this workshop is a great gift to your mind and body!
What you will need?
– Mat
– Towel
-Water
-This class will not be done in the heat.
– Blocks & bricks will be provided by BYC.

 Introducing Laura:

When Laura heard a friend talking about Bikram Yoga in December 2005 she thought it sounded like a good way to come in from the cold and resolved to try it the next day.

Little did she know what a great impact it would have on her life. In fact, in 2009 she took the Bikram Yoga training and has been teaching at BYC ever since.

In 2016 Laura travelled to Vancouver, Canada to train with Yin Yoga teacher Bernie Clark and is finding that this slower paced, meditative form of yoga is an excellent compliment to the more ‘Yang’ style practice of Bikram Yoga.
