About:

It’s always fun and exciting to go upside down during a Yoga practice, as it literally gives us an upside-down perspective. Come to this workshop with Stanford, where you will get to learn how to come into headstand (Śirşāsana) practice.

What are the preparations needed?

Interestingly, handstand is part of the preparation and we will be practicing coming into it also.

Learn the answers to questions like: What is the benefit for coming into headstand and what warm down is required afterward? How can a good breathing practice keep us safe during inversion?

This workshop is open to people of all asana experience and everyone who attends will get a taste of being upside down.

However, due to the demand of strength and flexibility required around the shoulder, neck and upper limbs, this workshop may not be suitable for you if you have any serious conditions or injuries around these areas.

Attended our level 1 Headstand Workshop and wanting more? Been practicing headstand in your own practice and looking for ways to deepen the practice? Here is an opportunity for you to advance your headstand (Śirşāsana).

After a short refresher of the basic building blocks of coming into inversions, we will look to create different variations in headstand, as well as modifications. If you are a Yoga teacher, we can also go into teaching points on how to guide others into their inversion.

This workshop is aiming at advancing people with an existing headstand practice, so the pre-requisite is that you have either attended the level 1 workshop or already can independently come into a headstand.

As always, due to the demand of strength and flexibility required around the shoulder, neck and upper limbs, this workshop may not be suitable for you if you have any serious conditions or injuries around these areas.

Cancellation Policy:

If you need to cancel out of the workshop and do so any time prior to 24hrs before the event, please email the studio at studio@bychotyoga.co.uk and the fee will be credited to your BYC account. If you late cancel under 24hrs prior to class you will be charged in full.
