BYC/Yoga Questions:
How did you discover yoga?
My sister stumbled upon BYC just around the corner from our house when I was 16. She told me I wasn’t old enough for hot yoga and had to wait until I turned 18 (rude!). So I literally waited… like a yogi-in-training in exile. She kept this gem of a studio to herself until I finally got my chance—and before I knew it, I was working reception shifts!
How long have you been practising at BYC?
– Since 2019—and I’ve basically become part of the furniture. The kind that stretches, sweats, and smiles a lot.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given in yoga or life?
“Your mind can create joyfulness or problems—but you choose which one you see.”
It’s like mental origami: fold wisely.
If you could give one piece of advice to a fellow yogi just starting out on their yoga journey, what would it be?
– Don’t see yoga as a ‘workout’, but as way to re-connect with yourself through dynamic movement. Be patient, present and self-aware in your practice and move with intention.
