    Q&A Time:

    How did you discover yoga?

Geri Halliwell. No joke! I was the biggest Spice Girls fan (and still am!!). When Geri made her solo comeback and was looking so radiant, toned and uber flexible. She spoke about yoga at any given opportunity and credited it for her new found confidence, mentally and physically. I got intrigued about this trending form of exercise. I tried my first class at BYC in July of 2007. I will never forget running out of my first class because I could not hack it! Now I am a teacher – I’m living proof that it gets better. Ha!
How long have you been teaching at BYC/What year did you start teaching at BYC?
I taught my very first cover class in December of 2022! I had literally just qualified and I jumped in to save the day. I remember that there was snow outside and it all felt very ‘full circle’.
How long have you been practising at BYC?
I did my first ever class there 19 years ago.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given in yoga or life?

Winners never quit, and quitters never win.

If you could only choose one word to describe your teaching style, what would it be?

I can’t pick one. Haha! I have to pick two – disciplined and fun! I am so grateful to this yoga for its disciplined style and I love to infuse that in my class, but I like to do it with a fun edge!
Favourite Album/Albums (who can have just one)?
I am absolutely LOVING the new Lady Gaga album ‘Mayhem’ and the Olly Alexander album ‘Polari’. Give them a listen!
    Favourite ‘Dad/mum/bad’ joke?
I have sat for at least 5 minutes and cannot think of ONE joke. Lol.
If you could only eat one meal for the rest of you life what would it be?
Honest Burger (the plant burger). SOOOO GOOD!
Do you have a favourite BYC memory and if so what is it?
I love seeing the progress in the Sunday morning crew. I love their energy and focus. I have memories of people starting and feeling a little anxious and now they are soaring in their yoga practice. It feels lovely to be part of that journey,
Who would you choose if you could pick one person, living or dead, to have dinner with?
    Freddie Mercury. What an icon.
